Finally – adult interaction!

We had a busy day yesterday – 3 visitors!!! It was very exciting for me, as I was craving some adult conversation. (Not that DB isn’t a brilliant conversationalist when he gets home at night; he is – but I can only tell him the same story 4 or 5 times before he gets tired of it. Imagine that…)

My good friend Angie and my MIL both came around the same time in the afternoon, just in time for LB’s 3 o’clock bottle and subsequent 20 minute immobilization. (Trust me – if you move her after you feed her, you will be sorry!) We’re sitting around, talking, and LB lets out what had to be 10 minutes worth of toots! All 3 of us just stared at her in disbelief and then burst out laughing. It was some serious gas to come out of such a little package! LB did not seem fazed by her social faux pas – I’ll have to have a talk with her about social mores…

Later, one of my absolute best friends in the whole wide world came over. Cris has to be the nicest person I know. I keep hoping that I will absorb some of her sweetness and light just by spending time with her, but so far, it hasn’t worked. I’m still cynical and mean. But I digress…

Cris, of course, came bearing gifts (diapers and a bottle warmer!) and gossip (I’ve got to stay abreast of the happenings at the office!) and cuddled LB for an hour so my arms got a break. LB absolutely loves Cris, as do all babies. She spent the whole hour just staring at her adoringly…

Can't you see the love?

It’s also great when Cris comes over and I get to bounce baby rearing ideas of her. She has the two best behaved children I’ve ever met, so she’s my go-to for mommy advice. DB has asked her how much she charges for parenting classes – he was joking, but I think we would both enroll if there really were such a thing…

And today we’re having another visitor! Devinder, another friend from work is coming by this morning, which means I should stop blogging and go shower/put on real clothes. No one wants to see me in my pajamas except DB – and I can’t blame them.

I love comments! Feel free to leave one!
