So LB was technically 3 months old last Thursday (on Jessie’s birthday! Happy Belated Birthday to an awesome sister!) but with work and the garden and life in general, this post is a few days late.
LB is now 24 1/2 inches long and weighs in at a whopping 15.9 lbs! (These measurements were obtained very scientifically with a tape measure and a household scale, by the way). In case you don’t remember, at 2 months she was 24 inches and 13.9 lbs.
None of her 0-3 month clothes have fit for weeks and quite a few 3-6 month pieces are getting tight. She seems to outgrow things lengthwise before she does widthwise – the snaps on her Gerber onesies are already gaping when we cram her into them. Note: it’s incredibly frustrating that there is NO similarity for children’s clothing sizes, even among lines of the same brands. Carter’s Kohl’s line 3-6 month is a totally different size than Carter’s Target line in 3-6 month. And don’t even get me started on the off brands of clothing and their sizes…
As regards the all-important Developmental Milestones, I think she’s holding her own. She’s got great head control and can keep herself pretty stable in the Bumbo, at least for the 5 to 10 minutes that she’ll tolerate being in there. She was doing awesome at rolling over from her stomach to her back, but she sort of seems to have lost interest in that. (She still does it, just not as frequently.) She is an absolute champ when it comes to grabbing any available fabric and shoving it into her mouth. And finally, she has started arching her back and stretching in such a way that she’s getting very close to rolling from back to stomach. She’s not quite there yet, but I have a feeling it’s coming. I also have a feeling that she’ll hate it because she’ll get freaked out and not remember how to get back on her back. But we’ll cross that bridge when we get there…
And now, what you’ve all been waiting for: LB’s 3 month photo!
And now my secret is out – I didn’t actually buy those stickers to put on onesies for the monthly photos, I’ve been photoshopping them in… 😦 After three days of trying to get a smiling photo of her in a clean onesie, I said screw it and got one of her in just her diaper and photoshopped the “sticker” on her stomach. She’s much happier in just her diaper and is usually attired (or not) in that, so it’s more true to life than previous photos.
And I know I say this every month, but I can’t believe how much she’s grown and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the next month!
