Why my husband rocks, part two

Normally, I try to coordinate my weekly talk-fest with my sister for a time when DB is otherwise occupied. That way I get to give Jessie my undivided attention and not lose out in quality time with DB.

Tonight it did not happen and Jessie rang me right as DB was coming down from putting LB to bed. Prime “reconnect” time.

I looked at him and said, “It’s my sister. I’ll call her back tomorrow.”

He looked at me and said “No, I know how much you love taking to her. I will read my book; answer the phone.”

I promised him it would be a 20 minute conversation; it was more like 35…

But he didn’t care. Because he knows how important it is to me to talk to my sister at least once a week for at least a really long time. (And yes,I know that last bit isn’t quantifiable to anyone but me, but whatever.)

And even though it took away from our “husband and wife” time — and trust me – those minutes are precious — DB didn’t mind because he knew it was important to me.

So this post is really to make sure HE knows how much I appreciate both it and him. Not to make sure you all know how awesome he is (most of the time- :)), but to make sure he knows I know how awesome he is….
