Yes, I know that LB is over a year old and I am just taking her to the park for the first time. Given that she couldn’t actually do any of the activities at a park up until recently, I don’t feel that bad about it.
Our afternoon at the park consisted of me helping the Littlest Brewster climb up on something, helping the Littlest Brewster climb down from something, helping the Littlest Brewster climb up on something… over and over and over… Can you see why I really don’t mind that we didn’t do this until now?
We also played on the swings (my main reason for taking her) and went down the slide. (Which consisted of me lifting her to the top of the slide, helping her slide down, trying to convince her to go do something else, relenting and lifting her to the top of the slide again… Needless to say I was really sore by the end of the excursion.)
Of course I had to snap some pictures of the experience. Most well-documented child ever, I swear to God.
Here are the best:
Luckily, she was not discomfited by face-planting into the leaves. Perhaps if I were helping her rather than snapping pictures, she wouldn’t have fallen. ((And perhaps not. Maybe this will just teach her to be a better climber next time. Yeah right.))
But we had a good time and she was a tired girl when it was time for bed last night. I can’t wait until the weather’s warmer and less wet – I could do without the cold, wet leaves and sand on everything at the end of the day.
