Okay, so I was doing really really well with being back on the wagon this week.
And then, my fabulous coworkers brought in a bunch of food to celebrate my birthday. The day before my weigh in.
And it wasn’t just sweets. Sweets I can pass up. Or eat a little bit and be good.
Oh no – it was savory things. Like spinach and artichoke dip. And cheese. I love savory things.
And knowing how much I love food, one of my friends brought me a bag of various snacks as my birthday gift. ((Which may sound strange but is perfect. perfect. I love food. I adore food.))
I attempted to mitigate the effects of my birthday celebration by drinking a ton of water. I was practically floating away by the end of the day. It apparently helped as I am now back down to my pre-Oregon weight! Which is much, much better than I was expecting after my day of noshing yesterday.
Here are this weeks stats, which were much better until my birthday day at work
This Week’s Weight: 163.0
Amount Lost Since Last Week:4.6 lbs
Total Weight Loss: 9.4 lbs
One thing that helped with getting back on track after my vacation: using my FitBit One! My buddy Julie sent me hers that she was no longer using and it is just the coolest thing. I am obsessed with making sure I get to at least 10,000 steps every day. It’s much easier on days that I work, since I do nothing but run around like a chicken with my head cut off all day. Weekends it’s a little harder, so I’ve started taking the Littlest Brewster for a walk in the afternoon, just to get my totals up.
The sleep feature is cool because it shows you how long it takes for you to fall asleep and how frequently you wake up. Here’s what I’ve learned: I wake up a lot. Usually about once an hour or so all night. The problem is that I don’t really know what to do with that information now that I have it. How do I sleep better? How do I keep from waking up every hour just to look at the clock and roll back over? Knowledge may be power, but not if you don’t know how to use it!
Nothing too big coming up this week to throw a wrench in my weight-loss. Well, I’m going to finally see my buddy Schmiddie after months and months apart but as she’s one of the healthiest eaters I know, I’m not too concerned. ((This is the girl who once went out to sushi with me and got one maki roll. One. I can eat 4 or 5 by myself, plus nigiri plus edamame plus a 22 ounce Kirin Ichiban.))
I am going to try to really track every nibble this week and see how that helps. I know a 3 pound loss is not realistic for one week, but I would love to get into the 150s. But it’ll happen eventually, even if it doesn’t happen next week.
