I know that technically this should be week 19, not week 18. But since I’ve only technically been back on the wagon since Monday morning, I figured calling this week 18 was more accurate (and fairer to me).
Well, we all knew the results wouldn’t be good. No one can consume that much rum punch and terrible Caribbean lager and carbohydrate-heavy meals without suffering some consequences. So the cold hard truth:
This Week’s Weight: 160.6
Amount Gained Since Last Week: 3.2 lbs
Total Weight Loss To Date: 11.8 lbs
The only factor that mitigated some of the excessive calories I took in was the fact that I utilized the resort’s fitness center every day of vacation but one. I may have only done 30 to 45 minutes a day but at least it was something.
The coming week only presents one caloric challenge: our annual cookout scheduled for Saturday. (If you’re reading this, you’re certainly invited! Catch a flight! Email me for directions!) Since that is the only hurdle I can see, I fully expect to have a super-on week and to have a wonderful weigh-in next week. If I can’t undo all of the vacation damage, I will be very surprised. If I can undo the damage and shed a little bit more, I will be very happy. Check back next week to see which I am!
