Apple Chip Fail

Yesterday, I found a recipe for homemade apple chips that I was really excited to try and share with you all if it turned out as well as the DIY fruit leather.

It seemed so simple and fool proof: slice the apples on a mandolin, toss with some cinnamon, and bake on parchment at 275 degrees for 1 1/2 hours, flipping once.

The Littlest Brewster had a great time helping, even if she didn’t get to eat any of the finished product as it went straight in the trash.

I don’t know if I sliced the apples too thinly or if our oven ran too hot or what, but I pulled the trays out 20 minutes early and they were still burnt nearly beyond recognition. I don’t know if this is something I would be willing to try again, but if any of you have a recipe for apple chips that works, feel free to share!

I love comments! Feel free to leave one!
