Usually, we have a menu plan for the week so I know exactly what we’re having for dinner. Sometimes, though, what was listed for that day just isn’t appealing or I forgot to plan anything at all. In those instances, one of my go-to quick and easy, delicious and totally not healthy meals is Warsaw Wings.
I can’t remember how long ago we saw the recipe on a box of pierogies, but this has certainly become one of our favorite treats.
Here’s what you need to make a batch of Warsaw Wings:
-I box of Mrs. T’s Pierogies (the cheese filled kind, not sweet potato or spinach)
-Chili powder or spicy seasoning of choice
-Frank’s Red Hot
-Gallon Ziploc bag
Preheat your oven to 400° and grease a baking sheet. Put the frozen pierogies in the bag and toss with about a tablespoon of the olive oil. Get them well coated with the oil before you shake in some chili powder and a bit of Frank’s. How much or little you add will determine how spicy your wings are; we like spicy, so I add a lot.
Spread the coated pierogies out on your baking sheet and pop in the preheated oven. Cook for 18 to 20 minutes, flipping them over halfway though baking.
You know they’re done when they’ve puffed up and turned brown and lovely looking.
We eat ours with a side of ranch or blue cheese and extra Frank’s to make them extra spicy. One box is enough to give the DreadBrewer and I about 6 pierogies each, which is usually enough for us. We have been known to want more when they’re gone, but that may be due to how much we like them.
Not the healthiest of meals, but a crowd pleaser that’s easy to throw together on short notice. Give ’em a shot next time you’re stumped for dinner! Oh and yeah, add a vegetable or something and make it a balanced meal. I totally do that…
