Last January, I shared with you all what I consider my incredibly clever and exceedingly awesome way of showing off all of the pictures I had snapped of LB over the course of the year. And it was such an easy craft that I knew I’d do it again this year.
**For those of you who don’t remember and/or don’t feel like reading the old post, I took a picture of LB almost every day for a year and turned it into a calendar with each photo placed on the appropriate day. Yes, I am slightly OCD. No, it didn’t take nearly as much time or effort as you think as my picture files are incredibly organized and I worked on it off and on throughout the year. All told, it probably took 2-3 hours to make the whole dang thing.**
And it arrived just the other day from Shutterfly! The Littlest Brewster’s Second Calendar of Pictures!!! 🙂
It is honestly amazing to look back over the year and see how much she has changed and grown and learned. And it was really neat to see some of the pictures and be reminded of what was going on at that time in our lives. For instance, we have a picture of her getting her very last morning bottle. And the next day is a picture of her throwing a tantrum because she got her milk in a sippy cup instead. Little things like that that I probably wouldn’t have remembered as well, if at all, were I not reminded.
People have asked me if I’m going to do the same thing for BIT. And the answer is yes. Honestly, in this day and age of smartphones and constantly accessible cameras, it isn’t that hard for me to snap a daily picture. (I’m not perfect at it, by any means. There are definitely days that are missed, but not many.) I can’t imagine that doing it for two kids will be that much more difficult than doing it for one. And I know this is something they will cherish forever, which makes it all the more rewarding for me. (Says the third and least photographed of her parents’ children…)
So I’ll keep on snapping pictures as long as my little ones will let me.
