Getting Healthy – Week 4

I’m getting some momentum now, people! This morning saw only a modest movement on the scale (164.0) but even that little bit seriously motivates me to keep going. (Though I do have to admit that part of that may be due to the fact that the DreadBrewer and I couldn’t agree on what to have for dinner last night and thus went to bed without eating anything. Yes, because we’re both that stubborn.)

Lack of dinner aside however, I do feel like I made a seriously decent effort to eat healthfully over the last seven days. I chugged my water. I ate my portion-appropriate, nutritious snacks rather than junk food. I logged my steps. And it worked.

But I’m still not really exercising. And I know I should probably cut out that second glass of wine – not just for the waistline but for my heart as well. And if I see another baby carrot with hummus, I may scream.

So, goals for this week:

  • Drink 2L of water day.
  • Try to limit myself to one glass of wine that can be had after aforementioned water is consumed.
  • Log 10,000 steps a day.
  • Try to get to the gym or get some “official” exercise at least twice.
  • Track all of my food, even if I go over.
  • Find some new, delicious, and healthy snacks so I don’t turn orange from too much beta carotene.

Thanks for sticking with me for the duration! I know it’s slow (and fairly boring) going, but we’ll get there eventually, right?

    • True, but I figure slower weight loss with the occasional indulgence thrown in is more sustainable for me than rapid weight loss while feeling deprived. Though the key word there is occasional, not daily… something to work on! Thanks for the encouragement 🙂

  1. You’ve got this! I can’t blame you with wanting the indulgence of a glass of wine, I think I’m going to work on cutting on my daily can of soda so I can better justify a glass of wine in the evening!
